Sandra Murwira is a public health professional with over ten years of experience contributing to national and donor-funded health programs in Zimbabwe. She currently serves as the Cervical Cancer Screening and Treatment Program Officer at Zimbabwe Technical Assistance, Training and Education Center for Health (Zim-TTECH), supporting implementation of cervical cancer services for WLHIV across five provinces with a focus on screening, treatment, and quality improvement.
Previously, she worked within the Zimbabwe Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) in the Family Health Department, where she contributed to the development of guidelines for cervical cancer screening. She also supported coordination in Reproductive Health, including obstetric fistula and maternal health initiatives.
Sandra’s work focuses on improving service delivery, and ensuring women, particularly those living with HIV, have access to prevention and treatment services. Her research interests include implementation science and post-treatment outcomes in resource-limited settings, and she has contributed to both national and international research outputs.
She holds a Master’s in Public Health and a BSc Honours in Nursing Science from the University of Zimbabwe and has completed Advanced Training in Sexual and Reproductive Health (Lund University), Global Health Research (University of Washington), and Secondary Cervical Cancer Prevention (University of Cincinnati, Zambia).
