Alexandrina Iovita
Plenary Topic: Sustainable response: Localization, Social enterprising and increasing resource mobilization/financing towards the end of HIV and emerging diseases in Africa.

Alexandrina Iovita is a seasoned international development professional with over two decades of experience at the intersection of public health, human rights, and international law. She currently serves as Senior Adviser for Human Rights at the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

Her expertise spans strategic program design, monitoring and evaluation, and legal and policy reform. Alexandrina has held progressive roles at UNAIDS, both in Geneva and Moldova, where she led efforts to integrate human rights and gender equality into national HIV responses. Prior to that, she led the UNFPA Moldova country program development and implementation. She has also held key roles in academia and civil society.

Alexandrina has co-authored several peer-reviewed publications on human rights and public health. She is a frequent contributor to global policy dialogues and has helped shape frameworks for measuring and addressing human rights in health.

She holds a PhD in International Humanitarian Law, a Master of Public Health, and a Certificate in Leadership and Management from Harvard Business School Online. A national of the Republic of Moldova and Romania, Alexandrina is fluent in Romanian, Russian, and English.
